FIVE STAR CELLARS WALLA WALLA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2006

This wine was one of only five gold medals awarded at the Tri-Cities Wine Festival, and you'll find no argument with this winner. It is richly structured from beginning to end. The abundant aromas incorporate blackberries, sweet oak, leaf tobacco, roasted coffee, mocha, nutmeg, baker's chocolate with some earthiness for complexity. The flavors are bold with boysenberry and black cherry with nicely balanced acidity and tannins. There is coffee on the finish. Try it with steak and mushrooms, if you can. The vintage, the winery's inaugural release, sold out almost immediately, so act fast.
