The Domaine Amiot Guy and Sons was created in 1920 upon the acquisition of 2 hectares of vines in the Chassagne Montrachet hills. While the Domain was at the time small in size, the wine parcels it contained were already quite remarkable. The property started out with the following pieces of land: the Vergers, the Clos Saint Jean, the Caillerets and the Dents de Chien, which were later to become the Montrachet Grand Cru. The estate was one of the first vine growers to make and bottle its own wine on site, which was very rarely done at the time. As time went by, the vineyard's growing success allowed the acquisition of choice pieces of land such as La Maltroie, Les Champgains, Les Chaumes or Les Macherelles. In addition, the production was progressively sold directly to wine loving individuals and discerning restaurants. The addition of prestigious parcels such as les Chaumees or Les Demoiselles only added to the already well established notoriety of the Domain, both in France and abroad.
